BRANDPROJECT + DMZ @ INVESTOR’S NIGHT

This week our Toronto team walked the few blocks from our downtown office to The DMZ (formerly known as the Digital Media Zone) at Ryerson University for one of their first ever Investor’s Nights. The DMZ is one of Canada’s largest business incubators for emerging tech startups, and the top-ranked university incubator in Canada and fifth in the world. The DMZ is a passionate supporter of startups, connecting them with customers, advisors, influencers and other founders, and providing a space for innovation and collaboration among all entrepreneurs.

A good representation of Toronto’s Angel and VC community were on hand for a brief networking session before sitting down to five pitches from startups ready for their first or second round of funding. Each startup had five minutes to run through their pitch and host a brief Q&A.

Investor’s Night is a new addition to the DMZ’s event schedule, and we’ll look forward to attending again. Having a hub of Canadian entrepreneurial talent right in the heart of the city is a terrific resrouce for the Angels, VCs, accelerators and brand builders both in Toronto and across the country.
